This event is designed to mimic the pressure of a Hunt.

Our goal with this event is to provide a safe match experience to all of the hunters. With Collin’s background in field match operations and competition, we want to make this a challenging find-range-engage match which will test all the hunters to their personal marksmanship limits. We aim to have the top hunters finish with roughly a 90% hit rate for the weekend. Targets will be challenging to find, track, and make appropriate wind and range calls on. Targets will be 1-4 minutes in size at their respective ranges, with a maximum distance of 1000 yards.

Each stage will test the competitor’s ability to do one or more of the following:

  • Locating
  • Ranging
  • Wind Reading
  • Target Size Estimation
  • Non-prone positional shooting
  • Movement between firing positions
  • Tracking the appropriate target

Collin believes in testing everyone’s ability as ‘Well Rounded Riflemen” so expect some skills you may not normally work on.

Wyoming is a hunting and firearms friendly state, and this event will be open to spectators. Spectators will be asked to sign a waiver but then may participate in demo stages testing equipment in a field scenario by manufacturers including: Gunwerks, Thunder Beast Arms Suppressors, Stag Arms, Maven Optics, and many others. We are pleased to have Bond’s Brewing Company, a Laramie staple, offer a location to host awards and serve BBQ wings and pulled pork dinner on Sunday.

Laramie has a commercial airport; however, it may be easier to fly into Denver and drive the 2 hours to Laramie which has all the amenities you may expect from a small city. We are working on reserving a discounted rate at a couple hotels, information to follow. Those interested in camping may do so on site at the Laramie Rifle Range’s dry campground on a first come first served basis, but we will have restroom facilities available on site. Camping space is limited so contact Collin at [email protected] to reserve space.

Collin has a background hunting in Wyoming and competing in various field-style shooting events around the country so this is sure to be an event you will not want to miss.
