Chase the Adventure July 2023 – Sig Sauer NRL Hunter Games

Range Location: 1838 Middle Calmar Rd, Decorah, IA 52101

The match will be held on rolling, semi wooded terrain, in the beautiful hills of North East Iowa. As always, we will give you a proper safety brief and stage training so you understand the process and safety protocols. New shooters will be squadded with experienced shooters to assist with the learning curve.

This 9 stage match on Sunday, July 9th will have target distances ranging from 150 to 600 yards, with average distance of 400 yards. The round count will be 36-72 rounds, depending on 1st round impacts vs 2nd round impacts/misses.

Optional Training Day

This event will follow an optional NRL Hunter training day on Saturday, July 8th. If you would like to attend class training on Saturday, sign up for the match here, then email: see1elite@gmail.com with your intentions to attend the Saturday class and if you would like to book a room at the lodge for Saturday night.  A room at the Lodge is $80 per night and most rooms accommodate 2 people, so if you have a travel partner you can split the cost. The lodge includes a Kitchen, private bathrooms, and a pair of shower rooms. Saturday Training will cover; Safety protocols, equipment, effective glassing skills, data use, stage layout and design, ranging, position building, terrain assessment, and effective shooting positions. 8am to 4pm, Saturday class training fee due on arrival; $100.00 class space is limited.

There are no divisions or classes. 

All rifles used to compete in the SIG SAUER NRL HUNTER GAMES series shall weigh in at 16lbs or less with all dedicated support equipment attached. Rifle consists of barrel, muzzle devices, trigger, action, stock/chassis, scope, and bipod (if used). A sling is no longer included in the weight, since it is used for safely carrying a rifle, and we want to encourage safe moving between stages.

Rifle mounted electronics: Due to the surge of consumer video equipment availability, passive rifle mounted electronics used for video recording which are mounted on a rifle system will not be included in the weight of the rifle. Assistive electronic devices such as E-data cards, hard mounted range finders, or timers, etc which aid the user during the stage time, will be included in the overall rifle weight.

At the start of the stage, the rifle should not have a magazine loaded (this is a safety consideration to prevent loaded firearms outside the shooting area).

There is no minimum power factor requirement, as seen in the two-day NRL Hunter Series. 

There are no minimum caliber requirements, however calibers may not exceed a 30 cal and must have a Muzzle Velocity maximum of 3275 fps.
