MATCH DESCRIPTION

Range Location: MP 174 Parks Highway Alaska (near Cantwell, Alaska)

Welcome to the 2025 NRL Hunter ALASKAN WILDERNESS HUNTER.

This match is located in the rugged foothills of the Alaska Range, under the shadow of Denali and will provide realistic hunting scenarios from natural terrain in this region. You can expect heavy brush with angled slopes and gorgeous views. This time of year Alaska will be reaching the peak of the summer solstice offering nearly 24 hrs of daylight. With temperatures ranging from the mid 20s-60s with snow pack just above our match location. We highly suggest packing layers.

The firing line will be on a trail east of the highway, approximately 2/3 of a mile from the highway. Expect approximately 400’ of elevation gain across the course. Travel from parking to the firing line will be by foot. We will be shooting in a 180-degree field of fire with the no-shoot zone paralleling the highway. Expect targets from 15yd – 1,000yd along a 3-mile-long firing line. Moderate hiking will be required.

The Match Zero Range will be open for a limited amount of time on Saturday (RSOs have their own window), if you feel you’ll want more than a few rounds for confirmation, we strongly suggest you stop along the way to the match to zero – see below for convenient range options. Power factor will be checked (if necessary) in this same window.

Match Parking: There is a pull-off on the left (west) side of the highway just before the Hurricane Gulch Bridge. Just north of the bridge will be a signed lot for parking. Additional parking will be available along the highway.

Check-in: A tent will be set up in the parking lot just north of the bridge, serving as the check-in and banquet location. This will serve as a base of operations for the match.

Range Officers: We are seeking experienced RO’s. If you’d like the opportunity to compete and work as a stage RO for the match, please complete the RO Application (TBD). For more info email [email protected]

ROs WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR POINTS & PRIZES AT THIS EVENT. With the  goal of rewarding and securing quality ROs during the 2-day event, they have been offered the opportunity to complete all stages in a 1-day timeframe for points amongst the other hunters and prize eligibility. ROs will complete the full COF on the competitor Check-in Day.

Schedule:

FRIDAY, June 20th
