MATCH DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the 2025 Sooner State Safari. As always I will produce a fun and enjoyable event for everyone. Safety rules will follow the NRL rules as published for 2025 with the addition of chamber flags being used, and chamber flags may be removed moments before your time is started at the direction of the Range Officer on that stage.
This match will be new shooter friendly, distances, target sizes and stage design will produce a match with lots of hits for everyone, with a very small number of challenging targets to separate the top competitors. We will focus on a fun, low stress event for everyone.
The Oklahoma game animals are very diverse across the entire state; Black bear, whitetail deer, wild pigs, coyote, mountain lion, bobcat, turkey, elk, antelope, and mule deer.
These hunting simulated stages will be created on a new range of rolling hills, with mixed vegetation, from creek bottoms, to wooded draws to open valleys. Many targets will be life sized steel animals, some with vital plates located appropriately. The average target distance will be 350 yards, but expect anywhere from approximately 150-800 yards.
The weather in March is generally nice with temperatures in the 40’s-60’s. As always come prepared for whatever nature provides.
No refunds will be available but if you need to sell your slot just keep us in the loop and we can adjust as needed.
RANGE OFFICERS
To help us reward and better secure quality ROs during the 2-day event, vetted individuals will be offered a complimentary match slot for the opportunity to complete all stages in 1-day timeframe (on the RO Shoot Day), for points amongst the other hunters and for prize eligibility. The opportunity at this is set to take place on the competitor Check-in Day.
*If you’re interested in ROing this event, please submit to the following RO Application: COMING SOON. Anyone may apply, however, space is limited and not guaranteed. Those who volunteer to RO but are not selected will have the option to purchase a slot.
