Welcome to the 4th Annual Mason Valley Steel Hunter, situated just east of the Gold Rush mountain town of Julian and adjacent to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in San Diego County. The Mason Valley Ranch is 8500 acres of typical southern California high desert terrain. Low scrub in a very dry climate. (Field conditions are completely different than last year as it is now 3 years after the fire) Field Elevation is 2400 ft ASL. Weather in March is “usually” highs in the 70s/80s and lows in the 40s/50s with an extremely low chance of rain.
This match will provide an excellent opportunity to enjoy the weather of sunny Southern California while working through rocky terrain of the high desert. Target engagements will range from roughly 100 to 1000 yards.
Competitors will be expected to hike to all shooting locations that are not accessible to vehicles.
Water will be provided at each stage with bag lunch on Saturday and Taco dinner on Sunday during the awards.

Unicorn Charity target as always (we have donated over $3k charity from this event)
Friday check in and zero will have a 100 yard zero area but no extended ranges to proof dope so please come prepared.
Abel Company will be offering demo suppressors for any competitor that would like to use one. First come first served.
No refunds will be available but if you need to sell your slot just keep us in the loop and we can adjust as needed.
RANGE OFFICERS
To help us reward and better secure quality ROs during the 2-day event, vetted individuals will be offered a complimentary match slot for the opportunity to complete all stages in 1-day timeframe (on the RO Shoot Day), for points amongst the other hunters and for prize eligibility. The opportunity at this is set to take place on the competitor Check-in Day.
